Update on new novel, and what it is about

  • Mar. 25th, 2007 at 3:31 AM

Well, for those of you interested/ wanting to know what my new novel I'm writing is, read on fellow crusaders!

Siamese Souls is about a lawyer who ends up dealing with a strange case before it even hits court. The town of Rockport, Texas is struck with a violent attack of teenage suicides that are influenced by a drug that police can't seem to find. One case in particular sticks out though, one that leaves a girl dead with gruesome injuries that are related to a homicide. The only problem with Andrea Fallson's case is that there is no evidence of murder in the room.

So, to sumarize it in a simpler note:

Jordan Elkshire gets a case that he can't udnerstand.

Elkshire's part-time teaching job leaves him in a relationship with a young man that goes far beyond what he expected.

And Elkshire is frightened by the prospect that the case seems to be 'haunting' him, persay.

SS ( Siamese Soul ) has been doing well. Since Monday I've almost written 20K, and within the last Friday and Saturday evening I've written almost 5K, which means that I am almost at 20K. I have a feeling that this will be a novel that people will like, but may also shy away from. The sexual content within the last part that I wrote seemed to spike up a whole lot, more than anything else that I've written. I didn't intend for it to do that, but you know the old saying? Go with the flow. It's not porn or anything, but it was erotic, to say the least.

Ah well, I've already decided that I'm an adult writer, so it doesn't bother me. I'm telling the story that I want to tell, so I'm not worried.

That's my short little update. Also, since March is almost over, I should be hearing about my Permuted novella for the Headshot quartet pretty soon. I'm happy, and I should also be hearing about Fried! any day now.

Well, this is me, minues the glasses, adding the contact lenses. It took me a good while to get them in at the eye doctor, but at least I got them on. I have a schedule for them for a week so I can get used to them, but they're a lot different than glasses, that's for sure. Still, I'm satisfied with them, and they lightened my eye color, so I guess that's cool.

On a side note, I am now going into counseling for my self-esteem issues. Outside of my writing, I'm not all that upbeat about myself. Ah well, I guess that's from years of being bullied and put down by people, but no worries. My mother talked with a counselor, and I'm going to be in a counseling group tomorrow, so yeah. Anyway, that's what happened today; I came home early because I wasn't all up for school, and I couldn't concentrate at all. I had to rewrite the letter C--and just the letter--ten times to make it actually look write on a paper. At least I got through my favorite class, English.

So, now we go to writing. I finally got my lazy ass to researching Lovecraft and his creatures. I had intended to write something for Cross-Genre Cthulhu which Permuted Press is putting out, and now I finally got something going around . . . If I can get my Critter's Credits caught up (which I think I will for this story) I'll submit it right now. I won't spoil the story, but I know that the people from Permuted Press will like it, that's for sure. The only other thing I will spoil is the name of the story, which I dubbed The Melody of Death.

Aside from that, I'm almost done editing Containted the sequel to Black Darling. I won't be releasing it too soon, because I want to get some simple blurbs from readers and other people for the back of it, but I'm almost done, nonetheless.

Thanks for reading!
