Alanis seems to be the only thing that puts me in a good mood. I swear, I'll write her an epic twenty-page letter one day telling her how much her music has kept me from doing completely stupid shit. I found this hidden song on her Jagged Little Pill (Acoustic) album last night, after the song 'You Hope' (or something similar.)
as per the journal title, lots of shit is going on in my life. Obviously, most of you know this.
My grandpa's got cancer. It'll kill him within the next few weeks, if not days.
I'm not close to him, but my mother is.
Honestly, I don't know. This journal is going to end up turning into a complete and utter rant about my life and how shitty I think it is, so I'm cutting it here. If you don't read it, I don't care. If you do, thank you.

--------------------------
Dakota Travis and Steve Ernest have survived the zombie apocalypse for a whole month.
Forced to travel away from their belovedsafe home when a violent gang makes its presence known, they find shelter in a converted asylum with a group of other soldiers. One of these soldiers, a man by the name of corporal Jamie Marks, fears for their safety when sergeant Brooks starts making irrational decisions and rearranging the chain of command.
Regardless of this small issue, they have more to worry about other than who's in command or whose rank is higher than the other. When the zombies flock to the base and break in through the gate, Dakota is split away from his best friend.
Now, forced to face the reality of not seeing Steve again, he turns to his friend in his time of need.
When the sun rises, the fight for survival is only beginning, especially when a new kind of zombie is just starting to make itself known.

Also, Jodi Lee posted a review, giving it four stars! Check that (and an interview with me) out here:

If this doesn't get your attention, I don't know what will...
I love Marina. Not only is she incredibly gorgeous, she also has two degrees in philology.
No one’s seemed to notice though…
Hmmm…
*gives everyone who watches my LJ a dirty look*
haha, just kidding.
Not much has been going on, really. I’ma scared of swine flu (obviously, haha,) I’ve been working on my everlasting fantasy novel which is currently at 113k (and will probably not be finished anytime soon,) and I’ve been procrastinating editing. Stupid me just figured out that if you SINGLE space a document, you actually have less to edit (dur. Ten pages a day + single spacing = less to edit.) I won’t say WHY I’m editing something, but… yeah. I’s got secrits and you don’t so hahahahaha.
Other than that, I’ve also confessed my love for Ian’s cat, Thor, in probably the most awkward way known to man, but whatever. Hey—I love cats, what can I say? :D
Have a good day, everyone!
~ Kody
PS: In other news, I got THE MOST AMAZING thing emailed to me yesterday, but I can’t share it yet. :’( Darn, but it should be done soon. I told said person who did it that I was ready to marry him. I decided to keep the offer of having his babies because, yannow, that’s just AWKWARD!…
(Kody Boye – the most awkward person in America.)
(This happened on the sixth, by the way -- not the seventh.)
Wow. Talk about a nice pre-seventeen birthday present, LOL! (my birthday's tomorrow, the seventh.)
To start, my story HAPPY ENDING (which has been reprinted for its third time) is now in the Library of the Living Dead's ZOMBOLOGY. You can buy one here: https://www.createspace.com/3378211 (it'll appear on Amazon in a week or so.)
Secondly, my story BASTION'S PRIDE has been published in the A Look Through the Mirror Darkly anthology. It features a young man who will go to ANY stakes to get revenge... for his kitten.
You can find that anthology here: http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-bo
And finally, the fourth and final installment of HIS TOUCH IS OF ICE is in the Dark Gothic Resurrected Magazine. Oh, how I loathe that thing, but now I can finally forget about it (lol, old writing = blehage for me.) You can find that here, if you're interested: http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-bo
So, yeah -- three pubs in one day is pretty good, I say. LOL.
As well as just signing the two-year contract for Sunrise, my short story The Dog on Taylor Road is now up at Writers' Stories webzine.
So, if you're interested in reading a piece about how a father and his sons learn you sometimes don't get a second chance, please, click here.
'Cause I'm lazy and need to go start writing on my new laptop.
Just to let everyone know, my short story, The Dog on Taylor Road, has been picked up by the Writers' Stories Webzine.
Unlike my other stories, The Dog on Taylor Road is a more contemporary piece. I'd go as far as to say it was literary fiction, but I won't classify it as that though. The story is about a father and his two sons who, on a long stretch of highway (called Taylor Road no less) meet a dog that teaches them a valuable lesson about how your first chance can always be your last one.
If you would like to read the story, please, click here.
Thanks again,
~ Kody
I didn't even try to get it, LOL!
The THIRD (count it, third) reprint of Happy Ending will be going in Dr. Pus' ZOMBOLOGY anthology. And, due to royalty increases he's getting from the books, the contributors will be paid ONE CENT a word, along with contributor copies.
EEEK.
:D
Go me!
Yes, people, YES! Good things keep happening BACK AND FORTH!!!!
My short story, Maddie, has been nominated for an Ursa Major Award, which gives credit to the 'best of' anthro things (whether it be novels, short fiction, media, or anything else.) I am in a pool with thirty-five other writers.
If you'd like to read more about the recommendation (and see who else has been nominated,) you can head over to the post on my writing blog (http://whatsupwithboye.wordpress.com/200
Needless to say, had I not Googled myself, I never would have found this, LOL!
Thanks for your continued support, everyone!

The neurologist said it was most likely not a brain tumor, but I'll be going back in for an MRI in six months, just to be safe.
So... YAY! :D I LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe.
I go in for a consoltation (to Salt Lake) on Tuesday. Apparently, they think my tumor is cancerous, because they sent me a link about cancer. :/ Maybe it's just standard what they do. Maybe it's not cancerous at all.
Thanks for all the support guys.
In light of all the bad that's been happening, Dr. Pus has picked up my zombie novel Sunrise for his LIBRARY OF THE LIVING DEAD PRESS.
He announced it on my friend Rhiannon Frater's interview with Dr. Pus tonight. Rhiannon even posted a congrats over on her blog, hehe.
Thanks guys,
~ Kody
This is what I posted on the Permuted Press messageboard. You can find more info about the previous updates (and how I came to find out I had one) here: http://permutedpress.com/smf/index.php?t
I posted this:
A very small one, at that.
The MRI doesn't say if it's cancerous, but it's small (very small.) It's located in the area where speach and speach developtment is located. The doctor said that the worst that could possibly happen is that I'd lose speech. He said I wouldn't be myself for a little while ( a few months) after that, lol.
We'll be going to Salt Lake City to have my head cut open and the tumor biopsied.
Just want to let you know that. Two different doctors said that I shouldn't have any problems. It's read on the surface of my brain, so they'll be able to get it out pretty easy.
To relate what's been more commonly asked, it's so small that it doesn't really have any risk. It's located on the top of my brain, on the left side (up in the speech and speech development area.) It's so small that they'll most likely only have to drill a hole the size of a quarter to biopsy, then remove it.
I'll keep you guys updated. I may be going to Salt Lake City Friday, but that's not definite. They haven't called yet.

Haha, 'the Bohmer.' That sounds quite vicious. *writes down in things-to-do-when-I-meet-Louise tablet*
Anyway, I got tagged by the lovely (and dare might I say, saucy) Louise Bohmer.
